Come join the Stanford Club of Southern Arizona for our sixth annual "Affordable" Wine Tasting Party. As in the past, the tasting will be a Blind Tasting.
Because this limited-attendance event has always been a sell-out, the Wine Tasting Party remains a Club member-only activity.
There is no cost for the event. However, each household must bring a bottle of wine —
- Bring one 750ml bottle of wine per attending household. The bottle should cost NO MORE than $10 (before tax), but PLEASE, no "$2-Buck Chuck." (it's a perfectly fine wine, but we've all tried it by now and we need to move on …)
- To conceal the wine identity, place the bottle in a paper/cloth bag (type used by wine shops), and tape the top of the bag closed at the neck of the bottle. Record the wine specifics (winery, grape variety, vintage, price, etc.) on a piece of paper and bring it to the tasting.
- Also, bring at least 2 glasses per taster (and we recommend actual glass ones). Please mark your glasses with a stem marker, tape, or whatever.
- The Club will provide light snacks as well as bread to cleanse your palate between wines.
- The Wine Tasting Contest will have REALLY cheap, but cool Stanford-related, prizes for the three favorite White and three favorite Red wines!
