Join your fellow Stanford/Austin alumni club members as we cheer on the preseason-11th ranked Stanford Cardinal in their quest for the Pac-12 title and national championship! With a talented roster and many returning players, Stanford is reloading and returning experience, but the team will need to find their stride quickly this first game, as the USC Trojans come to Palo Alto the week after. But the focus is on the UC-Davis this week, and though none of the current players were around the last the two teams met, the result of that game was the well-known 17-20 loss to the Aggies in 2005. Will Barry Sanders Jr. earn the starting spot? Will Kevin Hogan display a re-tooled short/intermediate passing game? Will the tight end position finally return to the productive days of yore? All this and more--next week!
We'll be hosting this week's game at Big Daddy's, where we will probably be in the main dining area, so look for the Cardinal-clad fans when you walk in. Friends and family are welcome, so come on out for an afternoon game on the first weekend of the college football season!
