2016 Stanford Bicycling

You’ve conquered the 2012 Tour de Stanford, the 2013 Giro d’Stanford, the 2014 Vuelta a eStanford, and a 2015 season that honored the one-day Classics and Monuments of bicycle racing.  This year is all about riding just for the love of the bicycle, and for the enjoyment of post-ride food and friendship.

Avid cyclists are invited to join fellow alumni and friends for a five stage bicycling event on the beautiful roads and hills of Colorado.   Each month this summer we will explore a different part of the state.

Stage 3: Trail Ridge Road
Location Estes Park, CO/ Sunday, July 24, 2016

We will start in Estes Park and ride to over 12,000 feet to the Alpine Center on the highest paved through-road in the nation.  A brave few may choose to ride down the west side towards Grand Lake and climb the back side. Don't let this one scare you.  The climb is a steady 5-7% but is not that tough.  The views are unbelievable.   We will ride on Sunday morning, to minimize traffic concerns.  Lunch in Estes Park after the ride!

Trail Ridge Rd to Alpine Visitor Center & return (43 miles; ~4500 ft climbing):  https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/12845535

Trail Ridge Rd to Timber Creek Campground & return (67 miles; ~8000 ft climbing):  https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/12845617

MEET AT 7:30 am.  DEPART by 8:00am
