Stanford, CA – Stanford Repertory Theater (SRT) presents its 18th annual summer festival, Theater Takes a Stand, celebrating the American labor movement. The festival features productions of Naomi Wallace’s Slaughter City and Clifford Odets’ Waiting for Lefty, a free film series, and a community symposium.

On Thursday, August 18th at 8:00pm, join fellow young alums in attending Clifford Odets’ Waiting for Lefty. It remains the great American play about the struggle for workers’ rights. Directed by SRT veteran Marty Pistone, Waiting for Lefty tells the inspiring tale of the fight for collective bargaining. With union busting the global norm, Odets’ masterpiece has much to tell us, all the more so in this election year.
