Accelerating the Clean Energy Economy and Addressing Climate Change

 The Washington, D.C. office of the Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment together with the Washington, D.C. Chris Field is the incoming Director of the Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment.  He was the founding Director of the Carnegie Institution's Department of Global Ecology and Faculty Director of Stanford's Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve.  He also served as co-chair of Working Group II of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and led its contribution to the IPCC Fifth Assessment Report (2014).

David J. Hayes is a Consulting Professor at Stanford’s Woods Institute for the Environment and a Distinguished Lecturer in Law.  Previously, Hayes served as the Deputy Secretary and Chief Operating Officer of the Department of the Interior for Presidents Clinton and Obama from 1999-2001 and 2009-2013, respectively.

Arun Majumdar is the Jay Precourt Professor at Stanford University, a faculty member of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and co-director of the Precourt Institute for Energy.  Previously, he served as the Vice President for Energy at Google. In October 2009, Dr. Majumdar became the Founding Director of the Advanced Research Projects Agency - Energy (ARPA-E), where he served till June 2012.
