Are you currently involved with the Stanford Book Salon? Want to get involved, but don't know much? Would like to talk about interesting books with other Stanford alumni and friends? This event is for you. The first book of the season is Robert Harris' Imperium. Harris is a great writer of historical fiction (remember Fatherland?) and this time he's taken on the story of Cicero at the time of the late Roman Republic as told by his slave Tiro, also a real historical figure. You'll want to read the discussion on the alumni web site, but Westminster history professor, Mary Jane Chase, will lead this first discussion, complete with coffee, tea, and pastry.
