Faculty Speaker Series - Failed States: What Can We Do?

Faculty Bio:

Stephen D. Krasner is the Graham H. Stuart Professor of International Relations and a senior fellow at the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies, the Hoover Institution and the Center for International Development, all at Stanford University. He was senior associate dean for the social sciences and deputy director at the Freeman Spogli Institute from 2008 to 2013. From February 2005 to April 2007 he served as director of the policy planning staff at the U.S. Department of State. In 2002 he was director for governance and development at the National Security Council. Professor Krasner's work has dealt primarily with sovereignty, American foreign policy, and the political determinants of international economic relations. He is also a member of the board of directors of the U.S. Institute of Peace and was a member of the Foreign Policy Advisory Board of the Department of State from 2010 to 2012.
