Entrepreneurship and Innovation Education -- an evening with Tom Byers and Deanna Badizadegan

Tom Byers is a professor of management science and engineering, the first holder of the Entrepreneurship Professor endowed chair, a Bing University Fellow in Undergraduate Education, and founder and faculty co-director of the Stanford Technology Ventures Program. At Stanford University since 1995, he focuses on education regarding high-growth entrepreneurship and technology innovation. Tom is a principal investigator for the Engineering Pathways to Innovation Center (Epicenter), funded by a $10 million grant by the National Science Foundation to stimulate entrepreneurship education at all engineering and science colleges. He has received the prestigious Gordon Prize by the National Academy of Engineering in the USA and Stanford University's Gores Award, which is its highest honor for excellence in teaching. He is deeply passionate about the guitar, the chance to teach Stanford students, his cat Emma. He is grateful for all the love and forgiveness by Stanford alumni over the past 20 years even though he has three degrees from UC Berkeley.

Deanna Badizadegan is a recent graduate of Stanford Engineering, where she earned a MS in Management Science & Engineering and a BS in Organizational Design & Engineering. She now consults with a number of organizations in product management and instructional design. In addition to her work in the world of technology entrepreneurship, Deanna also holds a diploma in Viola Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and regularly performs as a violist in the Bay Area.
