Stanford Alums are invited to a private, Stanford Alumni-only viewing of portions of the extraordinary contemporary art collection of Thea Westreich Wagner and Ethan Wagner.  This collection was featured at a major exhibition in 2015 co-organized by the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Centre Pompidou in Paris.  The renowned collection of works of American and international art from the 1960’s to the present includes hundreds of important pieces by artists including Diane Arbus, Robert Gober, Jeff Koons, Sherrie Levine, Richard Prince, and Christopher Wool, Liz Deschenes, Sam Lewitt, Laura Owens, Frances Stark, and Bernadette Corporation.  Thea Westreich Wagner and Ethan Wagner have generously gifted more than 550 works to the Whitney permanent collection and approximately 300 works to the Centre Pompidou.

Thea Westreich Wagner and Ethan Wagner will host our visit and we will have the unique opportunity to have a conversation about the collection and art collecting with them and Stanford Professor Pamela Lee, the Osgood Hooker Professor of Fine Arts at Stanford. https://art.stanford.edu/people/pamela-m-lee, who is resident at the Stanford in New York program this quarter.
