After the busy holidays, spend a cozy, winter Sunday afternoon in the company of friends and excellent musicians. This year, our group, Bob Athayde, Family and Friends, will have a special focus: Latin Jazz and the Music of Cal Tjader.For more info click here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cal_Tjader
Notes from Bob Athayde: We will play music from Robb Fisher who was Cal’s last Bass player and one of the great bass players of the S.F. Bay Area. Also, John Santos is one of the most famous Latin Percussionists on the planet, and my son, Kyle, is very influenced by Cal’s music. We will play both arrangements of Cal’s music and some music that would have happened if Cal and Frank Sinatra had been an item. I’ll sing in English, Spanish (Latin Music), and Portuguese (Brazilian Music).
You’ll find that anyone who likes music will love this concert! (Some may want to dance). It will be 60 minutes of JOY! I’ll make certain that the musicians bring their CDs for sale (at the end).
