We are fortunate to have another renowned member of the Stanford faculty as our speaker this year! Richard P. Saller, the Vernon R. and Lysbeth Warren Anderson Dean of Humanities and Sciences and Kleinheinz Family Professor of European Studies, will speak to our club on Sunday, March 19th. To accommodate his schedule, we are planning an early dinner event at the beautiful Skyline Country Club.

Speaker: Dean Richard P. Saller
Title: “Global Competition and Cooperation in Higher Education”

Talk Description:  More than ever, today's world leaders understand that their future lies in the expansion of knowledge and the education of their citizens. At the same time, we're experiencing unprecedented movement of students and faculty across national borders. What does this mean for Stanford? What challenges and obstacles confront us? As a Roman historian and scholar, Richard Saller will guide you through the trajectory of higher education starting with Ancient Rome. As an academic leader, he’ll discuss the implications of globalization of higher education for Stanford.

We welcome you and your guests to join us for this timely, stimulating discussion of factors impacting ALL of us who share a love of higher learning and its countless, lifetime benefits and rewards!
