WDCSA SPEAKER SERIES

***Cocktail attire.  21 and over***

The Washington DC Stanford Association (WDCSA) and the Stanford Black Alumni Association-Washington, DC (SBAA-DC), will co-host a special dinner at Johnny's Half Shell.  The evening will feature a prix fixe four-course dinner inspired by dishes discussed in Adrian Miller's upcoming book on the history of American soul food and the important role of Black American chefs who served in the White House.  Chef Walter Scheib III, White House Executive Chef from 1994-2005, will also be in attendance to give a few remarks and share anecdotes from the Clinton and Bush administrations.  We anticipate other special guests from the Clinton, Bush, and Obama administrations to attend.

Johnny's Half Shell is a premier seafood restaurant on Capitol Hill located within easy walking distance of Union Station.  Our chef for the evening will be Chef Ann Cashion, '78, co-owner of Johnny's.

The evening will begin with a cash bar cocktail hour at 6pm followed by Mr. Miller’s presentation and dinner at 7pm.  Wine will be served with dinner as well as non-alcoholic beverages.  The dress for the evening is cocktail attire.  21 and over may attend.

This event has been held in several other cities across the nation and has sold out in almost all instances.  If you would like to attend, we strongly suggest that you register and pay as soon as possible.

Cost:  $75 for WDCSA members and $90 for non-WDCSA members.  This price includes dinner, wine served with dinner, and gratuities.

Parking:  For validated parking, please park in the Colonial Parking lot located on E Street, NW between North Capitol Street and New Jersey Avenue.  Take the garage elevator to the Lobby and walk through the courtyard to Johnny’s Half Shell.  Bring your parking ticket with you for validation.
