Stanford Shakespeare Company opened their play "The Tempest" last night. They picked up very unusual spot for their screening: The fountain by the Terman Engineering. At least, I was very puzzled by the venue. Where will they set up the stages, where will the audience sit?As it turns out, they constructed a stage over the fountain, and used it as "the island" to go along with the story. It was a very innovative idea! Some shots from last nights performance:=================================================================
The island: doesn't the stage look great?=================================================================The opening scene of the ship.=================================================================Prospero and Miranda.=================================================================The play will run till Saturday, so if any of you is around the campus you should definitely catch the play. Just bring blankets (it gets pretty cold out there in the night) and may be some pillows (sitting two hours on the slope isn't easy).
