Acclaimed Shakespearean actor, director, and teacher Dennis Krausnick will give a rare lecture/demonstration suited for both theatre professionals and anyone interested in the Bard's work. In this one and a half hour lecture/performance, Dennis will speak about and demonstrate the differences between Acting Shakespeare and Acting Contemporary Material.

At Shakespeare & Co in Lenox, MA, where Dennis is a co-founder, he is also Director of Training and responsible for a remarkable program which is widely regarded as the gold standard in Shakespearean training in this country. Many actors working the theatre (and in film as well!) are alumni of the program.

His Shakespearean text examples will be drawn from King Lear, which Dennis will perform this coming season at Shakespeare & Company in Lenox, MA.

Subjects will include:

  • Acting through the words vs Acting between the words
  • Heightened Text vs. Realism/Naturalism
  • Acting through Language vs. Acting through Behavior
This event will be held in a private recital hall in Brentwood, directions will be given upon registration. Coffee and desserts will be served post lecture.
