Marsh McCall, Professor of Classics, Emeritus will present his lecture, How to Lead the Good Life: Lessons from the Ancient Greeks. If one class could change the way you approach your life, this might be it. Participants will learn about and discuss the core ethical beliefs of Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, the Epicureans and the Stoics, and consider how those schools confront fundamental human issues of justice, absolute versus relative morality, fear of death, fate versus free will, and the relationship between humans and the divine.
