Kathryn Graven is a journalist and mixed media artist. She graduated from Stanford in 1982 with a BA in History and a MA in East Asian Studies. She studied journalism at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism. As a Tokyo Correspondent for The Wall Street Journal, she wrote about Japan’s economy, auto industry, global financial markets and women’s issues. In Boston, Kathryn taught international business reporting at Boston University's Graduate School of Journalism. Taking a break from journalism to raise two sons led to a new career: painting. After studying mixed media and abstract painting at the Museum of Fine Arts and the Massachusetts College of Art, Kathryn founded Studio 319, her studio gallery in Boston’s South End.
