Creating Inclusive Workplaces

A Talk with the Leaders of Stanford’s Clayman Institute

The Stanford Association of Oregon is very pleased to welcome to Portland two of the top leaders in gender equality in the country, Professor Shelley Correll and Dr. Andrea Davies.

The talk will provide research-based insights and strategies for creating workplaces where all people—women and men—can thrive. The main focus will be on reducing gender biases that can undermine women’s achievement and limit their advancement. It will provide an overview of the research on the way that biases emerge and describe the consequences for women and for their workplaces. Professor Correll will then suggest research-based strategies for seeing and blocking unconscious bias so that workplaces can better harness diverse perspectives and create workplaces where everyone can thrive. Participants will leave the session with research-informed strategies for creating inclusive and effective workplaces.
