It is summer in Tucson and we are offering an indoor science tour for those hearty folks who are staying in town.  An optional lunch* is also planned.  Come join us to visit the world famous University of Arizona Tree-Ring Laboratory.  Did you know that the field of dendrochronology (tree ring dating) was developed at the University of Arizona?  Trees are recording monsoons and droughts.

Our lead docent Randall Smith will meet our group at 1:50pm in the lobby to begin your tour.  Guests are encouraged to arrive early, and to explore the many exhibits in the main lobby prior to meeting with our tour host.

Docent-led tours last approximately one hour and begin in the lobby of the Bryant Bannister Tree-Ring Building. During our tour we will be introduced to the basic tenets of dendrochronology, view a variety of tree-ring samples and visit the work areas and laboratory spaces of the researchers.

* Lunch: Come early at noon and meet at SoHo restaurant on the Southeast corner of Campbell and 6th. Parking in the back.  Lunch is optional and self-financed lunch. Please let us know if you plan to come to lunch so we can make reservations for a group.
