The Stanford Club of Northern Nevada & the Sierra cordially invites Stanford alums and their guests to learn about and tour the University of Nevada, Reno’s new and exciting Innevation Center, a dynamic hub of innovation and commercialization. This Center provides a collaborative space where entrepreneurs and large and small companies that are at the forefront of innovation can partner with University faculty and students. Such synergy of minds and ideas will stimulate creation and incubation of new start-ups and further accelerate the growth of the knowledge-driven economy of the region.
We’ll tour the Advanced Prototyping Labs in the Maker Space that include a design lab with twelve 3D modeling stations and eleven 3D printers; an industrial manufacturing room with Computer Numeric Control (CNC) equipment, laser, and vinyl cutter; as well as the beta space where companies will be housed to design and prototype their innovations. We’ll also tour the Nevada Advanced Autonomous Systems Innovation Center (NAASIC), where we’ll see the aircraft used to conduct UAV research and development and learn about the ongoing research efforts with NASA, the EPA, the State of Nevada, and several Nevada businesses. Please arrive by 4pm for the tour.
Following the tour we’ll have an informal reception with wine and light appetizers.
