A career break may be the furthest thing from your mind right now—but looking ahead, there are expected and unexpected reasons why you might take a break from your career: childcare, eldercare, your own health or that of a loved one, infertility issues, a wish to travel or pursue a personal interest, corporate downsizing . . . there are many scenarios.

What steps should you take now—as a working professional anticipating a career break—in order to lay the groundwork for a successful career reentry? And once on career break, what are the best strategies to ensure a smooth return to work when you are ready?

Speaker Carol Fishman Cohen, CEO and Co-founder of iRelaunch, will discuss the importance of taking the long view of your career and anticipating the path that includes a career break. In this workshop, you will learn:

  • The realities of a career break, and how to think strategically about your alternatives
  • Concrete steps you can take now that your “post-career break self” will thank you for
  • How to use a career break as an opportunity to reflect on your own career ambitions and career path

Audience

This webinar is for Stanford GSB alumni who are on the cusp of a career break or who may see one in their future.
