Join us for a fascinating panel discussion on the ways internet communication shapes and distorts our civic discourse and on the possibility for progressive reform. Orange County Museum of Art featured artist and labor lawyer York Chang examines how we understand truth, falsity, and credibility; political analyst, media critic, and "Citations Needed" podcast host Nima Shirazi investigates how media and institutions manipulate public narratives in the digital age; and UCLA Professor in Information Studies and Design Media Arts Ramesh Srinivasan explores how the internet could be fundamentally re-imagined to bring about more ethical, democratic, and inclusive outcomes. This event is present in conjunction with Chang’s exhibition currently on view, To Be Wrong With Infinite Precision.
The panel discussion will take place from 3:00 - 4:00 PM, followed by a private wine and cheese reception and an introduction to the gallery by Sarah Jesse, OCMA Deputy Director.
Please note the panel discussion is open to the public, but the reception and gallery introduction is for Stanford alumni and guests only.
