Join us to hear a fascinating retrospective of Stanford Tennis, featuring award-winning College tennis coaches, Dick and Anne Gould, former Men's and Women's Tennis Coaches at Stanford. We've also invited former players to give their perspective on what it was like to play at Stanford, and in some cases, to go on to the professional tennis circuit.

Dick Gould (Stanford '59) was the Men's Tennis Coach at Stanford for 38 years from 1966-2004. His Stanford Men's tennis teams won 17 NCAA Men's Tennis Championships. He coached John McEnroe, Gene Mayer, Roscoe Tanner, and many other top-ranked tennis players.

Anne Gould (Stanford '72, MA '80) was the Women's Tennis Coach at Stanford from 1976-1979. She led the Women's team to an AIAW championship in 1978, the first team championship in any women's sport for Stanford. The team finished in second place the other three years she coached (before NCAA started sponsoring women's tennis championships).

The event will take place at the beautiful Spanish Bay Tennis Club in Pebble Beach. The talk will be followed by a casual lunch and opportunities to mix and mingle with these star tennis coaches and players.

If you love college sports, this is a unique opportunity to learn the challenges and successes of coaching at Stanford!
