Men of Iron and the Golden Spike is a world-premiere symphonic oratorio telling the epic story of the thousands of Chinese workers who helped to complete the Transcontinental Railroad in the American West. The piece features soloists and a mixed chorus and full orchestra. Music by Zhou Long with lyrics by Su Wei. Artists include Bard College’s professional orchestra, The Orchestra Now, plus the Silicon Valley chorale and soloists. Conductor, Jindong Cai; choral conductor, Elena Sharkova.
