Indulge your cultural appetite with a memorable performance in the mariachi tradition! Join Stanford alums and friends for a festive evening (and Thanksgiving weekend) with Mariachi Sol de Mexico.
Limited ticket availability: We have purchased a block of 20 discounted tickets in Rows QQ and PP in the balcony center. Confirm your address with me and I will mail your tickets to you in advance (as long as you register by Nov. 15; if tickets are still available after that date, we will make other arrangements to get you your tickets).
After the concert, gather for conversation and no-host drinks at Empress Tavern restaurant located in the lower level of the Crest Theatre.
About Mariachi Sol de Mexico:
For more than 30 years, this legendary mariachi group has immortalized the passionate music of Mexico and played to sold-out halls, from New York's Lincoln Center to the Vina del Mar in Santiago, Chile. Their outstanding musicianship has taken them to the White House four times, to Hollywood for contributions to movie scores, and to international capitals such as Beijing.
Formed in 1981 by Jose Hernandez, a musical innovator who comes from four generations of mariachi musicians, the group's versatility is well evidenced by their collaborations with the Beach Boys, Willie Nelson, and various American symphonies. They have also performed with many musical luminaries such as Vicente Fernandez, Selena, Jose Feliciano, and Luis Miguel.
