The Stanford Cardinal (3-3) hosts the UCLA Bruins (1-5) in an exciting Thursday night matchup that promises to showcase the continuing emergence of Stanford's defensive dominance and offensive wizardry! Coming off a tremendous upset over #15 Washington, your Stanford Cardinal looks to close the gap in the all-time series (42-44-3) and extend the Stanford win streak to a series-record 12 consecutive games!

Stanford's starting QB hasn't been announced yet given the bye week between the Washington and UCLA games, as both KJ Costello and Davis Mills need time to recover and practice. Senior offensive guard Henry Hattis is now out for the season after suffering a leg injury against Washington, but rest assured that freshman backup Jake Hornibrook acquitted himself quite well while closing out the Washington victory in relief of Hattis. The offensive line performed admirably against Washington, but they are now down to six healthy scholarship players, and it will be a question of who can answer the call for the rest of the season. Senior running back Cameron Scarlett had one of the best performances of his career against Washington, and if that performance can be repeated for the rest of the season, then things are indeed looking bright for Stanford!

The defense turned in a vintage "party in the backfield" performance against Washington, tagging the Husky transfer QB Jacob Eason (formerly of Georgia) several times and rattling him into ill-advised and ineffective throws. Freshman cornerback Kyu Blue Kelly recorded the first interception of his career, and the defensive front seven exploited the inadequate protection of the UW offensive line. This was quite the turnaround performance from Stanford's early season defensive efforts, and things are trending up in a big way.

We'll be at The Park on South Lamar for an 8pm kickoff on Thursday, Oct. 17th. Come out for a relaxed weekday game -- the 90th meeting between Stanford and UCLA!

Go Stanford!
