Dr. Lynn Vavreck is the Marvin Hoffenberg Professor of American Politics and Public Policy at UCLA and a contributing columnist to The Upshot at The New York Times. Having formerly served in The White House, Dr. Vavreck currently studies campaigns, elections, and public opinion using large-scale data gathering methods.
In Identity, Impeachment, and the 2020 Election, Dr. Vavreck will talk about the historic 2016 presidential campaign and its aftermath. While the country is liberalizing in the wake of Donald Trump’s election, the movement is largely due to Democrats shifting left and Republicans staying in place. This has made the distance between the parties greater. Even so, there are things on which everyone agrees, suggesting the 2020 could be one that unifies more than it divides.
Light refreshments will be served.
Attendance will be limited to 50. Please sign-up early.
