Winemaker, wine importer and microbiologist Ismael Mercado will share his passion for Spanish wines by taking you on a journey to sunny Murcia, Spain. You will get to taste 5 award-winning Red Skirt Spanish wines along with his Spanish grandmother’s famous sangria. Ismael will guide you through the nuances of the tasting process, point out the differences between Spanish varieties compared to wine from other countries, and explain a little bit about the process of Spanish winemaking. You'll leave with a greater appreciation of Spanish wine and culture. Hope you can join us for this fun and educational event!  Arrive early to enjoy the latest art exhibition at OCMA (https://www.ocmaexpand.org/exhibitions).

Jumilla (located in Murcia) is a small, blossoming and exciting wine growing region on the Mediterranean coast of southeastern Spain.  Jumilla is known for growing the robust Monastrell (Mouvédre) grape.  We will be sampling two organic Monastrell Red Blends from Jumilla, one younger (vino roble), and one that has been aged in oak for a longer period of time (vino reserva). We will also be tasting two organic white wines from Jumilla, a Spanish Cab from Castilla-La Mancha, and a Tempranillo based sangria. Fabulous wines and sangria you won’t find at your local grocery store!

Note: Red Skirt wines and sangria to take home will be available for sale at the event.

Note: Due to very limited seating and special pricing offered by the wine importer, we are unable to reserve a space for those not tasting or wanting to share a flight.  This is also a non-refundable event.
