In partnership with Grand Street Settlement, Stanford alumni are invited to provide general advice about professional development and higher education to AmeriCorps youth. The young adults are between 17-24 years of age. Sign up for a wonderful opportunity to share ideas and inspire youth to pursue higher education and professional success!

Volunteers are asked to express interest in either or both of the following activities:

  • 2 - 3 PM Panel discussion featuring 4 Stanford alumni volunteers
  • 3 - 4:30 PM Topical breakout rooms and mock interviews

The panel discussion: will feature 4 alumni (selected from those who express interest) who will share their journey about pursuing higher education, choosing a career path, and general life advice. Please indicate in your registration if you are interested in being considered for the panel.

The topical breakout rooms and mock interviews: 2-3 alumni will lead more targeted breakout sessions with 8-10 young adults focused on career, education, or personal growth. We will conclude with a round of mock interviews (questions provided in advance) and allow for alumni and participants to provide feedback.

About AmeriCorps: AmeriCorps is a voluntary civil society program supported by the U.S. federal government, foundations, corporations, and other donors engaging adults in public service work with a goal of "helping others and meeting critical needs in the community."

About Grand Street Settlement: Since 1916, we’ve been inspiring New Yorkers, helping families get strong and stay close, and leading bold charges for change.
