In an effort to continue to learn about systematic racism, and push ourselves to take more action to fight both internalized racism AND the systematic racism in our society, we are starting an anti-racism book group.

There are just so many amazing books out there, and we could read them and discuss them, challenge some of our deeply rooted beliefs, and determine what ACTIONS we are going to take to make the change.

If we ultimately get too big (NOT a bad thing), we can separate into smaller groups so we can have good discussions.

Here's the agreement if you join:
  • Sign up by July 7th, 2020 (registration will close)
  • 1 x/month meeting on zoom
  • initial 3 month commitment, then we can review the structure
  • everyone buys the book we are reading to help support the writer
  • everyone comes open to being uncomfortable and pushing themselves
  • if you commit, you COMMIT to doing this (make reading the books, showing up, and taking action a PRIORITY)
Since this is a group with possibly mixed levels of anti-oppression knowledge/reading/experience, we thought our first book should be: So You Want to Talk About Race
We've linked to Rachel Cargle's new bookstore, where proceeds support her organization The Loveland Foundation, which provides therapy to Black women and girls.
