Learn how to cast on, knit, purl and bind off in less than 2 hours. If you're a complete beginner or want to refresh your skills, this class is for you.

There are many places (online & locally) to buy knitting needles & yarn. You can save 15% if you use this link.

Choose any needles, straight (any length) or circular (minimum of 24" length).  For a beginner, I prefer size #6 to #8 (4-5mm) made of wood or bamboo.  If you have some experience, you may choose aluminum or plastic -- more slippery.

Yarn exists in many thicknesses (weights) and many fibers. To practice you may choose inexpensive acrylics or wool/acrylic blends.  More eco-friendly options include cotton, wool, alpaca, cashmere, yak and other animal fibers. Prices can vary widely. The more luxurious, the more expensive. Lighter colors are easier to work with. The yarn weight you choose will correspond to a small range of needle sizes.  The manufacturer's description will suggest the best needle choice. Worsted weight generally uses #6 to #8 needle. Here are a few examples of what you might choose to learn with, but it's up to you if you want to go more expensive or less expensive.
