The Next Frontier: Artificial Intelligence, Ethics, and the Stanford Institute for Human-Centered AI (HAI) (Virtual)

Dr. Susan Liautaud is the Founder and Managing Director of Susan Liautaud & Associates Limited, a boutique advisory firm advising global leaders and corporate, non-profit, academic, and governmental institutions on complex ethics matters internationally. She also founded a non-profit collaborative platform for debate on innovative ethics called The Ethics Incubator. Dr. Liautaud has a PhD in Social Policy from the London School of Economics and Political Science, a JD from Columbia University Law School, an MA in Chinese Studies from the University of London SOAS, and two BAs and an MA from Stanford University.

At Stanford, Dr. Liautaud serves on the advisory board of the Stanford Institute for Human Centered Artificial Intelligence and on the board of the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Affairs. She also teaches cutting-edge ethics courses at Stanford. Dr. Liautaud serves on numerous other boards and advisory councils:  the London School of Economics and Political Science (Chair of Council (trustees)),  the UK government’s Centre for Data Ethics and Innovation, the UK Cabinet Office’s Advisory Committee on Business Appointments, the Pasteur Institute, Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (US Advisory Board (former Chair)), Care International (Supervisory Board), and the SAP AI Ethics Advisory Panel.

Dr. Liautaud is the author of the forthcoming book The Power of Ethics, which will be released on January 5, 2021.
