Join Stanford alums and friends for our own private tour of the Brant Foundation's Basquiat Exhibit!
The Brant Foundation opened its second space in New York City with a major exhibition of works by Jean-Michel Basquiat (1960-1988). Radical in both his artistic practice and life, Basquiat made the streets of Lower Manhattan his studio, joining the creative outpouring that was emerging in the late 1970s and 80s in New York City. Basquiat’s place in the East Village art scene remains absolute, and for the first time in decades, this exhibition brought his work back to the same neighborhood that inspired it.
We now have the opportunity to view this fascinating exhibition virtually, with a curator from the Brant Foundation to guide us through.
