Join us for our upcoming discussion of Gone. This will take place in person at a private home in La Jolla. RSVP to Lynn between August 25 and September 7 via email or phone only. (This module does not accept registrations.)
We will be discussing Gone, which has been planned for several months. Local author Linda Olson will join us. It is only about 200 pages and a quick, compelling read.
We also chose our discussion book for our November meeting- A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith. Per Wikipedia: This 1943 semi-autobiographical novel focuses on an impoverished but aspirational adolescent girl and her family living in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York City, during the first two decades of the 20th century.
Other novels/books discussed and voted upon (in order) were:
- A Tale for the Time Being by Ozeki recommended by Judy and Sharon F
- The Premonition by Michael Lewis suggested strongly by Arnold and Joan (hardback)
- Interior Chinatown by Charles Yu suggested by Judy McN
- This is How They Tell Me the World Ends - The Cyber Weapon Arms Race by Nichole Perlroth - per Rachel
- Tell the Wolves I'm Home - by Carol Rifka Brunt suggested by Judy McNeely
RSVP via email to Lynn at lynn.basquez@gmail.com between August 31 and Sept. 7, 2021.
