Mary B. Cranston, JD '75 is a Retired Senior Partner and Chair Emeritus of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, an international law firm. She was the Chair and Chief Executive Officer of Pillsbury from January 1999 until April 2006 and continued to serve as Chair of the firm until December 2006. Cranston serves as a director of Visa Inc., of the Chemours Company, CSAA Insurance, and McAfee. She served as a Trustee of Stanford University from 2000 to 2010 and as Chair of the Stanford Children's Hospital and Children's Health Network board until December 2016. Cranston holds an AB and JD from Stanford. She has substantial expertise in complex antitrust, class action, and securities law and the National Law Journal has recognized her as one of the 100 most influential lawyers in America. The National Association of Corporate Directors has also recognized her as one of America's 50 most influential and effective directors.
Ellen Richey, JD '77 is the retired vice chairman and chief risk officer of Visa Inc. She served on the executive team at Visa from 2007 until June 2019 and as a director of Visa Europe Ltd. from June 2016 until December 2019. Richey currently serves on the boards of directors of Green Dot Corporation and Cantaloupe, Inc. and chairs the Girl Scouts of Northern California board of directors. At Visa, Richey was part of the team that took Visa public in 2008 – the largest IPO in US history at the time – and thereafter led various risk management, governance, legal, internal control, and payment security functions. Earlier in her career, she served as vice chair, chief legal officer, and chief enterprise risk officer of Providian Financial Corporation, one of the largest credit card issuers in the United States, and as a partner at Farella, Braun and Martel, a San Francisco law firm. She has extensive experience in corporate governance and regulatory matters, having led those activities during and after the IPOs of two large financial technology companies. Richey received a BA in Linguistics and Far Eastern Languages from Harvard University and a JD from Stanford Law School, and served as a law clerk for Judge Charles B. Renfrew of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California and Associate Justice Lewis F. Powell, Jr. of the United States Supreme Court.
Gabriela Parcella, JD '94 is President of Merlone Geier Management, LLC (MGM), has primary responsibility for oversight of MGM's operating team, and is a member of the Investment Committee. Before joining Merlone Geier, Parcella was the Chairman, President, and CEO of Mellon Capital, a $380 billion institutional investment management firm focused on index and multi-asset strategies. During her 20-year career at Mellon Capital, Parcella held numerous other leadership roles, including Chief Operating Officer, General Counsel, and Chief Compliance Officer. Parcella is a director of Terreno Realty Corporation (NYSE: TRNO), an industrial REIT with a strategic focus in six major U.S. coastal markets. Additionally, she serves as an Independent Trustee on the Dodge & Cox Funds Board of Trustees. Parcella is a member of the Stanford Law School, the University of Texas McCombs School of Business Dean's Advisory Councils, and the Stanford Real Estate Council. Parcella graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1991, earning a MA in Professional Accounting and a BA in Business Administration, both with High Honors. In 1994, she earned a JD with Distinction from Stanford Law School and was elected Business Manager of the school's Law Review.

Carol Lam, JD '85 is a retired Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at Qualcomm Inc. She is on the Board of Trustees for Stanford University, chairs its Audit Committee, and serves on the TRACON Pharmaceuticals board. Lam was the United States Attorney for the Southern District of California and a Superior Court judge in San Diego County. She graduated from Yale University and Stanford Law School and served as a law clerk for Judge Irving R. Kaufman on the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Lam is a legal analyst for MSNBC.
Justine Young Gottshall, JD '94 is a co-managing partner of InfoLawGroup LLP, practicing privacy, data security, and technology. She currently serves on the advisory board for BabyQuip, and she has formerly served on both charitable and advisory boards and as outside Chief Privacy Officer for Signal Co. Gottshall is a long-time member of the Executive Committee of Stanford Women on Boards.
