April 19 to 28, 2022

Journey through the idyllic countryside that inspired a genre and a generation of Dutch and Flemish masters with art history professor Alexander Nemerov.

The perfect size. We’ve chartered the 32-passenger barge MS Magnifique II, on which we’ll ply the region’s scenic waterways, a marvelous labyrinth of locks and canals—a truly unique and delightful cruising experience. Tulip-mania. Attend the world’s largest flower auction in Aalsmeer and visit Keukenhof—80 acres of more than 7 million bulbs and 800 varieties of tulips—at the peak of the blooming season. Tilting at windmills. Delight in discovering historical treasures in Gouda, Delft and The Hague, bike through the countryside, be awed by the iconic windmills of Kinderdijk and view the works of Dutch and Flemish masters at major museums. Remembering the past. Visit Amsterdam’s Noordermarkt square, where the only mass protest in Europe by non-Jews against the deportation of Jews took place in February 1941.
