Piemonte and the Italian Riviera

see larger map >>

April 21 to May 1, 2022

Art history professor Emanuele Lugli enlightens us on the art and art history of Piemonte and Liguria’s Italian Riviera while our Stanford connections provide special behind-the-scenes experiences.

Riviera reverie. Walk along the footpaths among the Cinque Terre, five pastel-hued cliffside fishing villages, and check out the glamorous seaside town of Portofino. Culinary treasures. In Piemonte, Italy’s “slow food” capital, feast on farm-fresh meals and taste the prestigious vintages of Barolo and Barbaresco. Earthy pleasures. Visit a traditional pecorino cheese farm and accompany a truffle dog on a hunt to sniff out the prized delicacy.
