ICT presents the Tony award-winning Fences by August Wilson. The play is about former Negro League home run king Troy Maxson, who has been shut out of the big leagues by prejudice and is now a garbage collector with little future. He tries to do right by his family, but when his youngest son shows promise on the high school football team, Troy must come to terms with his past disappointments or risk tearing his family apart.
Fences is a bittersweet drama, compassionate, moving and thoughtful. This is August Wilson at his best: challenging the American dream through a poetic, powerful and deeply personal story.
Seats will be in the orchestra section. The 2-hour performance includes a 15-minute intermission and will be followed by a 15-20 minute talk with the cast and director.
