Language y Cultura: Evolving Perspectives of Latino Identity

Begin your Stanford+Connects day by connecting with the Stanford Chicano Latino Alumni Association of Northern California as we explore the topics of language, identity and culture.

Professor Guadalupe Valdes, Professor of Education at the Graduate School of Education, will be presenting at this interactive program, focusing on the role of language in the lives of Latinos and will touch upon four main issues:

  1. Language and identity: What if I don't speak Spanish?
  2. Maintaining bilingualism across generations: How can I make sure that my children can speak to my parents?
  3. Creating your own Latino identity: I decide who I am.
  4. Leveraging all of your strengths professionally: How to succeed post Stanford?

Refreshments and lunch are included with registration for this event.

Sponsored by the Stanford Chicano Latino Alumni Association of Northern California, together with the Stanford Alumni Association.

Please note: Registration for Stanford+Connects is separate, and is NOT included with this event. We invite you to also register for Stanford+Connects here
