About Susan Sokol Blosser, '66
Susan is a wine industry pioneer, community leader, environmental advocate, and author. When women were rarely decision makers in business or agriculture, Susan distinguished herself in both. Over three decades, she managed every aspect of Sokol Blosser’s vineyard and winery operation. Susan was a forerunner in instituting environmentally friendly business practices at the Sokol Blosser Winery and practicing the triple bottom line concept of people, planet, profit.
Susan holds a B.A. from Stanford University, and M.A.T. from Reed College, and an Honorary Doctorate of Public Service from the University of Portland.
She has authored three books: At Home in the Vineyard: Cultivating a Winery, an Industry, and a Life; Gracious & Ruthless: Surprising Strategies for Business Success; and Letting Go: How One Entrepreneur Energized Her Business, Empowered the Next Generation, and Embraced a Bold New Vision.
The Sokol Blosser Winery in Oregon is best known for it’s excellent Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Riesling and the popular Evolution line of proprietary wines.
