Join us for a tour and catered lunch at TomKat Ranch! Home to LeftCoast GrassFed, the Ranch is a leader in environmentally-sound animal agriculture.
TomKat Ranch is an eighteen hundred acre cattle ranch in Pescadero on the San Mateo Coast three miles inland from the Pacific ocean. With its educational foundation and ranch operations, TomKat provides healthy food on working lands in a way that sustains the planet and inspires others to action. Their mission is to serve as a learning laboratory for animal agriculture on working lands focusing on climate stability, nature’s benefits, healthy food, biodiversity, and vibrant community.
LeftCoast GrassFed, housed at TomKat Ranch, is a producer of grass-fed, grass-finished pasture raised beef. Their cattle and ranch are certified by the American Grassfed Association, and they are an Animal Welfare Approved organization. They believe in humane treatment of animals, and good environmental stewardship. Through holistic planned grazing they have brought back native species—both flora and fauna.
The tour will take us onto the ranch land where we'll get a brief history of the ranch, an overview of the LeftCoast GrassFed beef business, and discussion of their sustainable practices and certifications. Along the way, we'll learn about their educational and ecological studies, see a restoration project, and perhaps even meet the cows!
Lunch will be provided onsite in the Milky Lane Kitchen by a ranch-approved caterer that follows the organization's mission.
The event is limited to members of Stanford Coastside Club.
