Prof. Jeffrey Fisher
will speak on
The Supreme Court: The Struggle to Apply the Constitution (and Other Old Laws) to New Problems

In this incredibly relevant talk, Prof. Fisher will discuss the Supreme Court's increasing presence in modern life and politics, and what it means for our country. He'll draw on his recent work in the marriage equality case and others to discuss the Justices' ongoing internal debate over how to interpret the Constitution. In addition, Prof. Fisher will ponder how to apply constitutional provisions and increasingly dated federal statutory regimes to issues that the Framers never explicitly considered -- and, in some cases, could not have imagined.

6:00 PM: No-host bar and catered dinner

7:30 PM: Presentation by Prof. Fisher, dessert and coffee
