Stanford Law School alumni and friends are invited to spend the day with other Stanford alumni at the Theater of the American South for a festival of Southern plays, food, and culture in Wilson, North Carolina. The festival's seventh season will feature a New Orleans theme and will be presenting A Streetcar Named Desire, the celebrated Tennessee Williams play set in the French Quarter of New Orleans. The production of A Streetcar Named Desire will be directed by Marc Fajer, AB '82, JD '85. This event includes a matinee performance of the play, followed by a conversation with Marc and the Barbecue Bash dinner featuring the Bobby Flay Throwdown-winning ribs of Ed Mitchell, live Dixieland music, wine tasting, and craft beer. There will also be a special display of quilts on the walls of buildings in Wilson's historic downtown.

The cost of the event is $30 and includes the matinee showing of A Streetcar Named Desire and dinner; wine and beer is an additional charge. RSVP by Saturday, May 12.

If you are also interested in also attending a one-man show about legendary New Orleans entertainer Louis ("Satchmo") Armstrong entitled Backstage with Louis Armstrong that evening at 8 pm you can purchase a separate ticket for $15.
