Please note that coffee, tea and sodas are not permitted inside of the theater. Complimentary popcorn will be served during the movie.
Moderator Bio:
Greg Roeszler is Executive Director of Playmakers, a non-profit organization that provides after school and summer reading programs, along with free summer football camps to underserved youth in the Sacramento region. "Coach Roz" was a quarterback/punter at the University of Minnesota and San Diego State, and a former camp quarterback with the Oakland Raiders. Coach Roz is a high school football coach in Sacramento and attended Encina High School.
Panelist Bios:
Jackson Cummings, ‘14 a graduate of Rocklin High School, earned a B.S. in Science, Technology, and Society with a focus in Innovation, Technology, and Organizations from Stanford University. While at Stanford, he was a member of the Varsity Football Team earning Pac-12 All-Academic recognition. Currently, Jackson works as Analyst at Top Tier Capital Partners in San Francisco.
Robin Cummings, P ‘14 works in the Athletic Department at the all-boy Jesuit High School in Sacramento, CA. She was a two-sport student-athlete at Northwestern University from 1983-1986 excelling in field hockey and lacrosse. She led the Northwestern field hockey team to two final four appearances and three Big Ten titles. Robin was also a member of the USA Under-21 National Team from 1985-1988, and an alternate to the 1988 Seoul Olympic Team.
Dr. Mimi Coughlin, ‘88, MA ‘89 is a Professor in the College of Education at California State University, Sacramento where her focus in on teacher preparation and continuing professional development. She teaches classes in theory and practice in multicultural education, critical thinking, and gender equity.
Dr. Todd Migliaccio is a Professor in the Department of Sociology at California State University, Sacramento. His areas of specialty include family, gender studies and bullying. He teaches courses that include Men and Masculinity, Film and Society, and Social Psychology.
Jennifer Siebel Newsom's Bio:
Jennifer Siebel Newsom, '96, MBA '01 is a filmmaker, speaker, former actress, advocate for women, girls, and their families, and a mother of young children. Newsom wrote, directed, and produced the 2011 Sundance documentary Miss Representation, which explores how the media’s misrepresentations of women contribute to the underrepresentation of women in positions of power and influence. In response to the film, Newsom launched The Representation Project, a call-to-action campaign and media organization established to shift people’s consciousness, inspire individual and community action and ultimately transform culture so everyone, regardless of gender, age or circumstance can fulfill their potential. Newsom is also an executive producer of the Academy Award nominated documentary The Invisible War, which exposes the epidemic of rape in the U.S. military. She resides in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband, California Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom, and their young children.
