Only offered to Stanford Young Alumni & Recent Grads
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Michael McFaul, ’86, MA ’86, was President Obama’s Special Assistant and senior director of Russian and Eurasian affairs. He was the architect of the Russian reset policy, the 7th post-Soviet United States Ambassador to the Russian Federation, and the first non-career diplomat to hold the position. Today he is on the Kremlin’s sanction list of people who are not welcome to enter Russia and the hashtag #savemcfaul went viral in 2018 when the Prosecutor General of Russia announced a desire to question him.
Would you like to know more about the man behind the international intrigue? This is your opportunity to meet Mike McFaul in person and ask your burning questions. Anything you can think up, from what it’s like to move back and forth between academia and politics, to how does it feel to have your life under surveillance by a foreign intelligence agency? Or perhaps you are curious to learn what it was like to work in the Obama administration? All questions welcome.
