Dress Code

The University Club has a dress code for all it's members and guests. Men are required to wear jackets and dress shirts.  Women are required to wear clothing meeting similar standards such as suits, dresses and skirts or tailored trousers with dress shirts.

Per Club rules, cell phones can only be used in designated areas.

Larry Diamond Bio

Larry Diamond, '73, MA '78, PhD '80, is a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution and at the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies and a professor, by courtesy, of sociology and of political science. He has written seven books and edited or co-edited more than 40 on democratic development around the world, including his most recent, Ill Winds: Saving Democracy from Russian Rage, Chinese Ambition, and American Complacency. Larry is the 2014 recipient of the Richard W. Lyman Award for service to the Stanford Alumni Association and, in June 2016, he was honored with the Kenneth Cuthbertson Award for Exceptional Service to Stanford University, recognizing his “visionary leadership” of the Haas Center. In 2007, the Associated Students of Stanford University named him “Teacher of the Year” for teaching that “transcends political and ideological barriers.”

The University Club of New York is located at the intersection of West 54th Street and 5th Avenue. If you are driving, reduced rate parking is available at the ABM parking garage at 17 East 54th Street between Fifth and Madison Avenues. Guests must get their parking stub validated at the Club's front desk to receive a discount.
