Reuben Chen is a partner at Cooley LLP, where his practice focuses on intellectual property litigation and counseling. He has successfully represented Fortune 500 companies as well as emerging companies on a variety of technologies, including computer technologies, medical devices, and biotech. Reuben serves on the Stanford Law School Board of Visitors and as Executive Law Chapter Chair of the Alumni Regional Law Chapters. He received his J.D. from Stanford Law School in 2003.

Candice Hsu is a patent attorney in Cooley LLP’s Palo Alto office, focusing her practice on patent preparation and prosecution, portfolio strategy, and IP due diligence for startups and established companies alike. With an emphasis on medtech and other life sciences, she has over twelve years of experience evaluating and prosecuting patent matters relating to a variety of diverse technologies including neurostimulation, medical imaging, robotics, implantable medical devices, diagnostics, digital health, machine learning/AI, and various consumer products. Candice earned her B.S. (’07) and M.S. (’08) in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford, where she fostered her interests in medical devices, robotics, and control systems.

Greg Mayer is a patent attorney with an aerospace engineering background.  He is based in the Chicago area and has deep knowledge of intellectual property (IP) law from over fourteen years of experience at Marshall, Gerstein & Borun, an IP law firm, as well as over twelve years in charge of the IP function at a leading medical device company, Hollister Incorporated. Greg is presently Counsel with a unique law firm, Scale LLP (www.scalefirm.com), that specializes in providing legal services to startups and tech companies. Greg received his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School in 1993, his M.S. from Stanford in 1988, and his B.S. from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 1987.
