Bee Rock is a unique (you guessed it) beehive-shaped rock outcropping on the east side of Griffith Park. It offers great views of the Park and the City beyond. Our hike will take us up a trail to Bee Rock, and to the Old Griffith Park Zoo on the way back. This Zoo operated between 1912 and 1965, when the new LA Zoo opened. However, the stone cages in which the animals were kept on display are still standing. You can go inside for a feeling of how it was to be a caged animal back in the day. It’s a 4 mile hike that should take about 3 hours.
